Colour is the constant thread that runs through my artistic practices even
though stylistically I work in different ways.
My most recent paintings have been driven by an interest in fragmentation.
The resultant works are semi-abstract illusional forms.
Abstracts derived from nature form the touchstone for my examination
of pure colour in a freer style.
My interest in 20th century artists has led me to experiment occasionally
with the practice of appropriation, especially with the works
of Matisse, Turner and Piper.
My studio is open during June as part of the South East Open
Studios scheme. for more information, visit www.southeastopenstudios.org.uk |
